Howie designs fund raiser 2007 calendar for Boston Living Center
12/11/06: Howie designed a new desktop calendar for the Boston Living Center that is to be used as a promotional tool for the Center as well as a fund-raiser. Fitting into a specially designed plastic CD jewel case the calendar contains 12 individual images of art and photography from Boston area artists and includes Howie's landscape "Neponset Hill" as the illustration for June. The calendars make great gifts and the money goes to help the Center and its many outreach programs that promote wellness in the HIV/AIDS community. Howie is featured artist in textbooks at
the Design Academy in the Netherlands
11/28/06: Howie got an email today from an art student at the Design Academy in the Nethelands asking questions about his artwork and was surprised (and honored) to find out that he is featured in the Academy's text books. Thanks to Joelle Lemmers for letting us know. Now we can truly say that Howie is internationally reknown?
Howie completes "A Nun's Life" mural project for a Bay State College

11/27/06: Howie and his public arts partner Gwen Mann completed and installed a public mural for MassBay Community College based on the oral history of the life of Sister Merecedes Kirst. Sister Mercedes served in New Guinea for over 18 years and her colorful story brought to mind the famous mural "Life's Great Questions" by French artist Paul Gaugin. Howie and Gwen losely based the stylized layout on the Gaugin image using vignettes to illustrated the varied life of Sister Mercedes. The mural is installed at the College Library for initial showing and will be moved to additional locations during 2007.
Howie Green completes series of paintings for Ratner Group's Color Works Salons.
10/16/06: Howie recently completed a series of 9 paintings that are going to be featured in Color Works Salon's upcoming holiday promotion. The paintings include 4 beautiful ladies with the cutting edge hair style as well as Howie's colorful pop art renditions of Redken product bottles and several lively versions of the Color Works' logo. Howie Green announces mural project for Mellow Mushroom restaurant
10/1/06: It's official - After over 9 months of planning and pre-production work Howie is hard at work on 3 murals and a series of individual painting that will be installed in the newest Mellow Mushrooom restaurant on Fleming Island in Jacksonville, FL. Poker Cow finds a permanent home
10/1/06: Poker Cow was sold in the Jimmy Fund Online Auction and now resides in Warren Rhode Island at Imagine Gift Store.
Jimmy Fund Cows on Parade Auction a Huge Success

9/22/06: The Jimmy Fund final auction for the Cows on Parade was a huge success! Howie Green's Flower Cow was the first cow up for the auction and got the event off to a rolling start selling for $8500! The grand ballroom at the Boston Marriott at Copley Place was packed with well over 1000 cow fans, bidders and artists who gathered to buy, bid and cheer on the proceedings. Howie's Album Cover cow also sold for big bucks and in all 45 cows were sold during the event. The remaining cows are currently featured in an online auction at - for Howie's Poker Cow is featured in the online auction so here's your chance to own a very unusual piece of art...

Cow Parade Book signing in Downtown Boston
8/24/06: Along with about 20 of the other cow artists Howie appeared at Borders Book Store in Downtown Crossing Boston to meet cow afficianados, sign books and enjoy the general sillyness of the cow book party. The book is now available in bookstores everywhere and contains full color photos of every cow in the 2006 Boston Cows on Parade event.
Howie participates in "Cow Parade Meet the Artists Day"
8/20/06: Along with many other cow artists Howie appeared at Faneuil Hall on Sunday August 20 to clean up the cows and meet the fans. Howie's cows Sophie The Flower Cow and The Poker Cow, both located at Quincy Market got cleaned while Howie chatted with the visitors and posed for photos -- including the one at right that was taken by cow fan and Sci-Fi mogul Michael Burstein who came around with a group of dedicated cow freaks who were trying to see every single cow in the event.

8/4/06: Film maker Joseph McLauchlan filmed Howie for a segment for Current TV with Rufus on location in downtown Boston.
Howie featured artist in Boston Herald's Cow Parade color magazine
June 18: The Boston Herald featured Howie in their special color magazine insert today to publicize and promote the Cows on Parade events. Click here to read profile.
The insert included photos of many of the cows, a location map and profiles of a few of the artists.
Reprints of the insert with a map of all the cow locations are available at the Cow Shop in the Prudential Center Mall in Back Bay.
Howie's 3 Cows now on public display as part of Cows on Parade Boston 2006
June 12, 2006: All three of Howie's cows (see below) are now on display as part of the outdoor public art display for Cows on Parade Boston 2006. Flower Cow and Poker Cow are on display at historic Faneiul Hall Marketplace (within a few feet of each other) and Rufus the Moosic Cow is on display in front of the Mariott Courtyard Hotel at 275 Tremont Street, across from the Wang Center in the theatre district. If you're in town for a visit make sure you stop by and say "Hi!"
Howie Wins Lamplighter Award of Excellence
June 2, 2006: Howie won a 2006 Lamplighter Award from the New England Society of Healtcare Providers for his creation of the Snorus for the Southcoast Health System. Jim Rattray from Southcoast and Howie have collaborated on numerous projects in the past and had fun bringing the Snorus to life. Snorus was used by Southcoast to promote their Sleep Lab facility in New Bedford, MA.
Sophie The Flower Cow Makes TV Debut
June 2, 2006: Sophie the Flower Cow made her TV debut on WCVB's Chronicle in a segment about the Cows on Parade that featured lots of the cows. Sophie was prominently featured and she looked great. Nashville radio station 96.3 JackFM uses Howie's art for promotion
May 31, 2006: Nashville, TN based rock radio station 96.3 JackFM is using some of Howie's album cover paintings for a new Summer Promotion campaign and contest that will end with the winner getting an original album cover painting of their choice from Howie... stay tuned for more!
Howie's 3rd cow, "Poker Cow", joins the Jimmy Fund Cows On Parade
May 30, 2006: A little late but still a welcome addition, Howie Green painted a 3rd cow that joins the ongoing parade. Especially commissioned by PokerStars.net the cow features Howie's version of the famous "Dogs Playing Poker" painting but with a group of Cows playing an intense game of Poker and a red-hot-mama cow cheering them on. Cows on Parade Boston 2006 Officially launches the Herd.
May 18, 2006: The Jimmy Fund officially put the cows out to pasture in City Square in Charlestown in a big lauch party that showed off all the cows to the Boston area media folks and an adoring throng of hundreds of admirers. Howie's cows Rufus and Sophie were on hand to help celebrate and Sophie especially enjoyed the opportunity to show off her new coat of finery. Howie appears on BNN TV's "All About The Arts" with Glenn Williams
March 20, 2006: Howie appeared as a guest artist on Boston's weekly live TV show "All About the Arts" with Host Glenn Williams. Howie and Glenn discussed Howie's artwork and showed several of Howie's recently completed paintings.
Howie's work featured in RockPop Gallery Show
February 2006: Howie's acrylic and mixed media and album cover artwork was featured in a gallery show at the Huntington Center in Huntington, NY. The show was curated by New York's RockPop Gallery where Howie's work in on regular exhibit.
Howie wins Absolute Vodka's 25th Anniversary Art Celebration in Boston.
December 2005: Howie's vodka design "Mr. Machine" and one of his album cover paintings won the 25th Absolute Vodka Celebration held at Club Machine.
