CLARICE CLIFF ART DECO STYLE POP ART HOME DECOR AND ART

I have been studing the work of the great British pottery designer Clarice Cliff and her Art Deco contemporaries Susie Cooper and others who produced a body of work in the 1920s and 30s that is so brilliant and bold and colorful that, 80 plus years later, it still looks fresh, inviting and new.

It is easy to see the influence that Ms. Cliff had on the style of the 1960s especially the trippy cosmic work from that era by Peter Max, Milton Glaser and the great German designer and illustrator Heinz Eidelman who designed the Beatles' animated film "Yellow Submarine". Her bold colors, bizarre designs and flowing outline style have become favorites of collectors around the world and her once humble home decor pottery items are now treasured collectibles.

All the pieces here are my homage to Ms. Cliff and done by me so I could get a real understanding for her work. I have a lot of fun painting these pieces and I hope you enjoy looking at them. They are sure to add a nice blast of Art Deco flair and color to any decor.
