Seattle AIDS Walk 2004- From Alison, 10/04
These are pictures from the Seattle AIDS Walk 2004 to benefit Seattle's "Lifelong AIDS Alliance", a wonderful organization that provides everything form case management to food. (They came out of a merger of two major AIDS groups up there. They're sort of like if APLA and Project AngelFood merged. Brilliant.) There's me on stage in my little blue vest opening the walk, (I think with that hairdo and the vest I look a little like Princess Diana in the mine fields), there's me and Tina Podlodowski, the exec. dir. thanking everyone at the after party (we're both totally wiped), and yes, a man with a big wooden thing on his head. I met him and asked what the hell was going on. He informed me that he was "The Little House on the Prairie". (He said he didn't really watch the show that much, but his friends sort of dared him to do it and told him they'd make big donations to the walk if he would be nuts enough to wear the get-up. So he humiliated himself for a very good cause!) http://www.lifelongaidsalliance.org/
